DIY Citrus Ornament Recipe
First you need to use a citrus fruit that has thinner skin. This means that you have options such as limes, lemons, grapefruits, oranges and tangerines. Now that you have these, here is what you need to do:
- Slice the citrus fruit with a sharp knife. You are going to want to get these no larger than a centimeter thick. The thinner that they are, the more transparent that they will be for the lights to shine through. Do not go thinner than a half-centimeter though as this will cause them to wrap and curl.
- Place the thin slices onto a grate that is placed onto a baking pan and bake them at 180 degrees for around 4 to 6 hours.
- Once they are done baking, let them cool for about half an hour. Then take some needle and thread to make a hoop to hang this onto your tree.
