Unboxing flocked Christmas tree is pretty messy. If you have to move the parts around while assembling them, you might get the whole house flocked. It is important that you unbox your tree right where you’ll be setting it up. This doesn’t prevent the shredding but it does keep the shredding contained.

Here’s how to keep your flocked Christmas tree from shredding:

Assembling

Gently unwrap the tree box and assemble the tree stand. Remove the wrapper in the box to keep the flocking in the box.

Then assemble the tree by placing them in the stand starting from the bottom piece. Leave them wrapped as they are while assembling. Plug-in the lights if the tree is pre-lit, be sure no bulb is burned out.

Now carefully fluff the tree starting from the top piece. Cover the floor below the tree with drop cloths or sheets. Vacuum up stray flocking after each piece. This will prevent the flocking from spreading all over the room.

Do the same for the middle and bottom piece of your flocked Christmas tree. Now move the tree to your desired position.

Now you can decorate your tree. Affix your Christmas ornaments antiques and, lights if your tree is not pre-lit. Slowly remove the sheet you used to cover the bottom of the tree and shake off excess flocking. Pick up what’s left of the flocking with the vacuum. And your tree is set.

Disassembling

While disassembling your flocked Christmas tree, cover the floor beneath it with a sheet to collect flocking. Then gently remove all decorations on the tree, including the lights. For pre-lit flocked Christmas tree– whether 6 foot or the regular 7 foot artificial Christmas trees, remove the lights as you disassemble the tree piece by piece. Store each piece in its original box or labeled plastic container and store it away in a cool dry place.
